| Website - The severity
of the California budget crisis was far worse than anyone had expected
and local nonprofits had to mobilize quickly to be heard. Project
Independence spearheaded the Hands Across Orange County rally; we
were able to put up a rally site over a weekend, and within a few
weeks many nonprofits had joined forces supporting the rally and getting
hundreds of people signed up ready to attend the rally or just show
their support. The site continues to bring news and updates concerning
the budget crisis and promote advocacy for people with disabilities
and the programs that serve them.
